I have 2 Back-UPS BR900s connected to 2 PCs, each running Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I've installed PCPE v2.2 and the lost-communication patch on both.
I have the same two problems on each PC:
Problem 1: The Startup folder has a shortcut to PCPE but it never starts automatically. If I manually click that shortcut, I get a UAC message which, if I say OK, does show the icon in the system tray. I've tried changing the shortcut to "Run as administrator" but that didn't help.
Problem 2: I hibernate the PC every night. It is awakened by Windows Home Server every morning at 5 AM to do a backup. When I get to the PC, the PCPE icon almost always has the yellow, lost communication flag on it. Sometimes there's a warning message showing to that effect.
Any suggestions?

1. The APC service is set to Automatic (and is started).
2. I've disabled that setting and will report back after the next hibernate cycle.

2. No change after making that USB hub change. The icon is still yellow in the morning and hovering over it shows "PowerChute Personal Edition - Internal Communication Fault".
