Smart-UPS On-Line SRTL 3000VA

Hi,

I have a brand new set of SRTL3000RM4UXLI-NC which consists of Power module (SRT3000UXI-NCLI) & XBP48RM2U-LI (Lithium battery pack)

First Issue: Right out of the box, I probed the XBP DC cable and DC receptacle but to my supprise I got only 0.1+ VDC. Is this normal ?

Regardless, I carried on with the installation as per the manual and connected the Battery cable, DB15 comm. cable & ground cable between UPS & XBP with the hope that the UPS would somehow trigger the XBP to switch ON. Due to the reactive nature of Lithium cells I decided to cold start the UPS without mains input just to be safe.

2nd Issue: As expected, UPS doesn't startup. Not a single beep and display panel doesn't illuminate. Is this a sign of a defective XBP48RM2U-LI ?

Unlike the Lead-Acid models, there used to be a RBC plug at the front side which act as a safety disconnect but on this Lithium unit, there are no switch or disconnects present.

Finally, is it safe to plug in AC mains and let it charge up ? 

Anyone came across these symptoms ?

Plug the system into AC Mains and power up the system and report back the outcome.

Along with the status of the rear LED on the external battery pack.

All lithium cells incorporate a BCM as such it acts like a switch thus you would measure no voltage because the BCM hasn’t turned on to allow DC voltage to flow.

Im not sure why you / your company decided to purchase this specific model?!?

Given it’s scheduled to be EOL and discontinued?? Besides the fact this specific product line was a complete dud since launch and has a very high failure rate hence why it’s been abandoned and EOL. 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the info. I will try powering the unit with AC Mains and report back the outcome.

Frankly, I had no knowledge of this model (and some SRTL models) are scheduled to be EOL until you brought it up. Then as I dug further, at least in Asia Pacific SRTL (Lithium based) models are "still commercialised".
