Hi all,
I have inherited a couple of Smart UPS RT 3000 (I think - one's branded Dell and the other is unbranded) with AP9618 Network Management Cards (NMC) attached that were set up previously but is no record of username passwords (not apc/apc), IP addresses or MAC addresses and have uninstalled the PowerChute software as I can't get into it. I have found the MAC addresses and the IP's but cannot get the IP Configuration wizard to find them - I guess because they are already configured.
I have tried arp and ping to reset one of the cards to a different IP address on a VLAN tagged port on our switch, but cannot telnet onto the card to set it up. Running arp -a shows the MAC address with the IP address I set up with arp.
I have a couple of questions:
Thanks
Tony

Tony,

Resetting the NMC will not disrupt output.
On 9/21/2015 6:50 AM, Tony said:I have read that I can attach a cable (940-0024C) and access it through the local console. The cable I have has 2 D-SUB connectors, but cannot find a corresponding port on the NMC only one on the UPS itself. Where should I attach the cable to on the NMC?
You attach the 940-0024C cable to the serial port on the UPS. Using a terminal emulator (hyperterm, putty) the settings should be 2400bps, no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no flow control.
We have Kbase FA156075 "Network Management Card (NMC) Password Reset Procedure" that should help.
