Battery Pack Disconnected Only While On Battery (Grid down)
We recently ran an evacuation drill with power mains shut down at our facility. Our SRT 6000 stack kicked in beautifully but displayed the message, "Battery Pack 2,RBC1 is disconnected." One battery pack unit was blinking red when we pulled the bezel but everything is connected OK. We only received this message when the grid went down, never saw it before. I just ran a self test after power was restored and the test passes fine.
We have the SRT6000 with a transformer unit and 6 external battery packs.
Here are the relevant log entries:
10/27/2022 19:35:14 Device UPS: An input voltage or frequency problem no longer prevents switching to bypass mode. 10/27/2022 19:25:48 Device UPS: Battery pack 2, cartridge 1 is not installed. 10/27/2022 19:23:36 Device UPS: Bypass not in range ; distorted waveform. 10/27/2022 19:23:36 Device UPS: On battery power in response to rapid change of input. 10/18/2022 22:29:50 Device UPS: Self-Test passed.
Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query. Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
May I know if you were able to reseat the battery connector on that RBC? If you were able to, did it resolve the issue? Aside from this, I would suggest for you to check if you have the latest firmware installed in the UPS. The XBP (eXternal Battery Pack) firmware gets updated when you push the firmware upgrade to the UPS as long as the XBPs are connected during this procedure.
IMPORTANT: IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO USE A LOCAL CONNECTION VIA USB CABLE WITH THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE FIRMWARE UPGRADE WIZARD. It is recommended to use a local connection via Serial cable. The serial cable supplied with the UPS must be used. USB support will be re-added to the next version of the Firmware Upgrade Wizard. Note: UPS models with only a USB communication port will have to wait for the next release of the FIRMWARE UPGRADE WIZARD which is expected to launch very shortly.
