APC Smart-UPS RT 5000 RS232 and usb cable

Please can you tell me the correct models of USB and com cables for APC Smart-UPS RT 5000, I have 940-0127b usb-RJ50 cable but I dont now is it right cable for this UPS. Thank you

What is the exact model and serial number of the Smart-UPS?

You will find the information on the bar code sticker on back of the UPS.

Hi,

The cable for that UPS is part number 940-0625. It is 9 pin serial to RJ50.

Thank you very much and what part number is USB cable, will my 940-0127b connect with him for monitoring. I fear, I will smash the UPS if I connect with this cable.

Hi,

The SURTD5000XLi does not have aUSB connection. If you would like to connect the Smart-UPS to the computer using USB you will need cable 940-0625 and a USB to serial converter. I use Plugable USB to RS-232 DB9 Serial Adapter (Prolific PL2303HX Rev D Chipset) but all serial to USB converters will work.

Hi

I make a cable like 940-0625 with RJ-45 one side and DB9 from other from this site http://pinoutsguide.com/UPS/apc_0625_cable.shtml and connect directly to com port but powerchute agent cant cant find the ups on com port, what do yo think I make wrong?

I find the solution, I can connect to UPS only with hyperterminal then over network. Thank you
