AP7953 firmware 3.5.5 and 3.5.6 request

Hi

I'm having a battle with some AP7953.

after upgrading to firmwares with AOS 3.9.0 and RPDU 3.7.4 I am getting a connection error on the web interface. I think the AP7953 might not be supported on this firmware type.

I have been looking for the 3.55 and 3.5.6 firmware download but cannot find it

I have one PDU that is running this version that is fine. Its the only one I know that works. I'd like to try downgrading some of these with issues to see if it fixes things.

Second question via telnet logon I see STAT P+ N- A+ on one of these PDU

what does the N- mean?

What does the P and A stand for?

BR - Nathan

Hi Nathan,

For the PNA status flags; P is the platform (OS), N is the network, A is the application.  So N- means the device isn't connected to the network - usually either configuration, or dhcp didn't respond (or unplugged - always worth checking).

I can't find 3.5.5 right now (still looking); but we do have more recent (3.9.4) if you're willing to try that also - https://schneider-electric.app.box.com/s/5mmbnnzlbijoqw9qchltf1n86kdg3tfg

Otherwise, I'd strongly recommend you investigate the network & network configuration - the N! tells us the fault is in the networking not with the PDU itself (I would expect A? or A! if the application didn't support the specific PDU).  The normal symptom for the firmware not supporting the device is that the webpage loads, but whole tabs (anything HW-specific) are missing.  This isn't where you're at, N! is between the firmware and the network interface, and if there was an incompatibility there, the firmware wouldn't have loaded at all.

Also useful may be to follow the menu through Device Manager, then eg Power Supply Status.  If any status is reported there, this is another positive sign that your PDU is supported  (I believe it should be, but seeing is believing)

Thank you for the reply.

I am happy with the aos934 and rpdu393 firmware. It works OK with the AP7953.

I've obsolesced + hidden the older firmware and wont use again unless I have a problem with the above.

I had some with very old firmware 2.x.x that sometimes halted on the update or did not restart in time.

I had to use a combination of ftp direct put uploading and terminal XMODEM transfers to recover these. About half were bricked. I think one of them overheated from being used more than normal, and I got that back to life later when it had cooled down.

Attaching some images of the work as thanks for linking me the firmware.

Note you must keep the comms sub board screwed to the PDU to ground it.

BR - Nathan
