Raise the voltage at which the UPS activates?

This was originally posted on APC forums on 7/12/2013

Hello - Is there a way to configure the PowerChute software so that the battery backup will engage when the voltage drops below 100V? In the software the highest voltage is 88V.  I'm running an Backup-UPS Pro 1500.   Thanks.

Your UPS should have a voltage transfer range setting you can adjust. All of the settings for that come from the UPS and not the software itself. The software just gives you an interface to change the settings on the UPS.

Also, this UPS has automatic voltage regulation (AVR). To prevent using your UPS battery, the AVR is designed to kick in when you have voltages below 120V (or whatever the nominal voltage is). When the transformer is no longer able to boost the voltage to an acceptable level, then the UPS transfers to battery. Higher than 88V, the AVR will kick in and boost your voltage and save battery life.

Per the user's guide:

Online Input Voltage Range           88 - 139V

Automatic Voltage Regulation      (94-107V) +11.5% (boost)

                                                 (126-141V) -11/5% (trim)
